Gallery Artists Exhibit in Nova Gorica Arts Centre

On Friday, 24th January, at 7 pm, the opening of the photography exhibition entitled Winds of Change will take place at Nova Gorica Arts Centre.

 

The artists participating in the exhibition are:

• Sara Rman

• Lucija Rosc

• Jošt Franko

 

The exhibition was curated by the art historian and critic Brane Kovič. He wrote in the accompanying text:

 

"At the transition into the second quarter of the 21st century, the outlines of the changes that are entering the photographic field with a new generation of artists, most of them born at the end of the last millennium, have already been strongly outlined. We cannot speak of a ‘school’ or a dominant trend, but rather of a series of individual addresses that focus on explorations of the different possibilities of photographic language as a completely equal and equivalent visual discourse in the context of the utterance of contemporaneity in non-verbal ways. Through selected excerpts from their oeuvres, a constellation of discursive practices is constituted that significantly co-shape today's iconosphere, its perspectives and aporias. The works of the six artists presented here are a starting point for a broader critical reflection on the position and role of photography in an increasingly deconstructed reality, in which things are becoming more unpredictable and elusive by the day."
