The presentation will be enriched by a performance by Severa Gjurin.
You're invited to join us!
Petra Cvelbar's photographic monograph celebrating women in music features Patti Smith, Grace Jones, Nicole Mitchell, Kim Gordon, Laurie Anderson, Joëlle Léandre, Mette Rasmussen, Neneh Cherry, Mary Halvorson, Kaja Draksler, Macy Gray, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many others.
As Mette Rasmussen, a renowned Danish saxofonist, wrote: "The book In Women's Hands shines a light on history and helps reshape and rebuild the narrative of female representation in music. It is an active choice and an active action towards structural change. It addresses the fact that society still struggles with outdated traditional gender hierarchies."
This event is part of the cultural activities in our bookshop, which are partly sponsored by the Slovenian Book Agency.
