I wasn't particularly interested in Roberto Rossellini, president of the Festival Jury in Cannes. I knew he was a serious artist and an elderly man. He hadn't been associated with scandal for a long tirne. And where there is no breath of scandal, there are no paparazzi.Stili, I took a few shots of him and Swiss actress Marthe Keller, his right hand in the jury. I had no idea these would be the last photographs of Roberto Rossellini. He died a few days later and my photos were distributed worldwide. I was ashamed for not having seen any of his films. Fortunately, soon after that, back in Paris,I1 had a chance to see his last film. It was a documentary about the Beaubourg - the center of art and culture in Paris.Upon my return to Yugoslavia, I took tirne to watch TV and movie theater retrospectives of Roberto Rossellini's most important films.
