Roberto Kusterle (1948) found an interest in photography at the end of the 80’s, focusing on a research of the human representation in connection with surrounding nature. His images create worlds where separations between dreams, reality, men and animals merge into a form of tight cohabitation, filled to the brim with ethical tension. For over thirty years, Kusterle has been a specialist in History and Criticism of Photography. He teaches History and Technic of Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and is part of the Scientific Committe of the Alinari Museum of Florence and of the CRAF of Spilimbergo. He collaborates with several galleries and publishes his works with both national and international editors. He received several awards for his work, among them the award of the Slovene month of photography (2006), Lago Film Festival award (2009) and CRAF award (2012). He lives and works between Pordenone and Venice.
