At Viennacontemporary 2023, Galerija Fotografija showcased the works of Tanja Lažetić, Sara Rman and Tilyen Mucik. From exploring botanical themes to manipulating the photographic medium, their range accurately represents the many directions contemporary photography can take.
Although the approach of each artist is certainly unique, this viewing room hints at their connectedness. The distorted forms of Sara Rman resemble the organic subject matter of Lažetić and Mucik, while their alternative photographic processes can be united in a bold understanding and manipulation of colour.

Tanja Lažetić
Lažetić works in the fields of photography, video, performance, ceramics and artist’s book. In the last ten years, Lažetić published more than twenty artist’s books. Her book Whore has been included in The Photobook: A History, Volume III published by Phaidon in 2014. She lives and works in Ljubljana. -
Sara Rman

Tilyen Mucik
Tilyen Mucik finished her graduate studies in 2018 at VIST with a thesis project Flora Femina – combining female and botanical motifs in the field of photography. In 2013 she received first prize at Tresk festival for best concert photography, and again a special jury mention in 2018. Her work is published in British (Wotisart?, SemiMagazine), American (Float magazine, Shuba magazine, F-stop magazine) and Canadian (Terroir magazine) online and printed magazines.
