ABOUT THE SERIES

"In my research, paper is not a base, but a sculptural material that can take on different shapes and be assembled into various compositions. In my project Plain Plane Cuts, I use paper and scissors, as well as the play of light and shadows. I am fascinated by the process of combining colours and shapes, they are an important element of my research. These collage works are made in my own unique way, I photograph coloured paper and digitally assemble the whole image. I am attracted to the illusion of volume in these seemingly flat paper forms. My intention is to present them to the viewer in a unique and unusual way. Created with the simplest of tools, my collage works are reduced to the basic elements of photography: light and shadow, shape and colour. Simplicity in everything, but an inspiring result in the end. I look for inspiration for my collage works in the works of cubists, abstractionists, modernism and the avant-garde."
