1. Eric Emo: Playing on the Other Side

    Step by step, I recorded the memories of the sculptures’ interior. In those spaces, which exist as a negative of the sculpture, the essence of the matter and the creation we are witnessing may be found, the intimacy of the sculpture. Different faces altogether arise from the protrusions and impressions in the bronze. The same holds true for the plaster moulds used to cast bronze. Insight into them offers exploration, observation, understanding of what remains hidden to the casual glance, what lies beyond the outer image. It has to do with the observing, photographing and re-interpreting of their reality.

  8. Lottie Davies: Memories and Nightmares

    The exhibition will be opened by Mr. James Hampson, Director of the British Council Slovenia. At the opening, the author, Lottie Davies, will guide us through the exhibition.

    Lottie Davies work is concerned with life-stories and personal histories, memories, beliefs and the tales we use to structure our lives. She takes inspiration from classical and modern painting, cinema and theatre, as well as the imaginary worlds of literature. She employs a deliberate reworking of our visual vocabulary, playing on our notions of nostalgia, visual conventions and subconscious ‘habits of looking’.
